Level 1 Apprentice Brazing Certification

When an apprentice is attending Level I – Basic Trade school, they can obtain their 1 3/8" brazing certification during class hours.

The trustees of the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JTAC) would like any apprentice who is working for an ORAC member contractor, certified on the ORACBRZ/Cu-04 procedure.

This is a 1 3/8” O.D. Copper to Copper test that covers the apprentice for any brazing on copper-to-copper joints between 1/4” and 1 5/8” O.D.

This program provides certification at a discounted rate of over 70% off and saves the employer the cost of labour for the time the apprentice is attending the test, because they are already attending classes.

Details:

Once contacted by JTAC admin, the employer must approve and pay for the fees associated with the testing, per apprentice.

The payment for brazing certificate is responsibilities of the Company, not the employee(s).

Fee Breakdown:

$100.00 + HST testing fee per apprentice, plus a $142.50 TSSA certification fee, per apprentice, per certification size.

The TSSA fee covers the TSSA agent's inspection and signature on each certificate. ORAC remits this fee to the TSSA.

When ORAC receives your registration, an invoice will be sent to you and can be paid online via your contractor log in on the orac.ca website.

The certificate will be sent once payment is received.
